‘Tremayne’, Sunday 23 September 2018. A flotilla of over seventy vessels – including yachts, gigs and paddle boards, sailed up the Helford River to Tremayne Quay for a concert devised by Abigail Reynolds and Gareth Churcher (composer and conductor) with St Keverne Band.
‘Little puffs of wind and ebbs of tide making the boats dance, warm sun and calm golden rays after the storm – all aligned with that fleeting moment of the equinox. In the arts world I’m a bit of a left foot science person but I was very moved by this experience. Everyone I have spoken to agrees. Full marks to Abigail who had clearly observed the to and fro of water at the quay driven by unseen energies at high tide. Few people have eyes to see that. So many Helford-based people took part – the event really drew the community together’
