‘Tremayne’, Sunday 23 September 2018, conceived by Abigail Reynolds. The first part of this concert was a new composition by Gareth Churcher, leader of St Keverne Band, with singer Katie Kirk singing (invisibly) as a passenger in ‘Ghost’, Adam Chodzko’s hand-crafted kayak and water-borne sculpture. The wind vanished, and the evening sun came out, and so many large boats and small boats, and yachts, and canoes and kayaks and paddle boards were there, floating between the music. The notes were by themselves, nobody whispered even. Just the lap of the water against the hulls, and the regular pumping from a clinker boat. And then … a beautiful voice, but from where? It was mysterious, and it stopped us all, a while’
